Theres no diSputing the fact that we are witnessing a relative peace in Maiduguri for the last six months. Gone are the days when we witnessed a bomb blast on almost a daily basis and this is so because of the heroic role being played by our fairless and brave soldiers. This is why I am of the view of extending the emergency rule in Yobe and Borno (that of adamawa is political) to enable our security agencies curtail the menace once and for all especially in Bama, Damboa, BenSheik and other remote villages. The marshal rule should be extended for law and order to be fully restored in the affected areas while the civilian JTF should also be encouraged by giving them allowances as they are playing a very vital role in restoring peace.
