These are amazing photos! If someone took a photo of Rodney and me in our trash (not that I would agree to it considering what our trash contains), it would consist only of a hand full of baby wipes (a medical necessity) and a hand full antibacterial wipes (an elderly pet owner necessity). We compost, recycle, re-use almost everything, right down to our dental floss (which gets recycled) and our tissue (which gets composted), and we eat mostly produce, which comes without packaging. Seeing these pictures really disappoints me. Why dont people make an effort to clean up after themselves (in ways other than throwing it in a land fill or the ocean)? Its not that hard. Our house doesnt reek of trash, we get free compost from all of our biodegradable waste, and we feel good about not being nasty, consuming parasites on the planet. Im not bragging, Im just asking that people really give each udesirable item consideration before tossing it in the trash. Can someone else use it? Can I make it into something else or repurpose it? Can it be recycled? Can it be composted? What will become of it if I throw it in the trash? Also please consider what you buy, how long it will last, how it is packaged, and whether that cheap price tag is worth the invisible, REAL price to our planet, or health and our future? This simple practice may seem inconvenient at first, but it will soon become second nature. You wont even have to give conscious thought to that teabag as you reduce it, then throw it in the compost bucket instead of the trash. You will feel proud as you put out a tiny bag of trash on the curb only once a month, while your neighbors set a huge dumpster full out weekly. Its really easy, liberating, and a great way to break out of the Matrix. Please share these awesome photos and give some thought to what your picture would look like if you lied down amongst a weeks worth of your garbage.
