These nifty FretWraps by GruvGear work for basses and guitars! Another little gear shout-out today. Im not sponsored in any way by these folks - but the guys at GRUV GEAR make one of the most effective tools out there for bassists to get rid of those nasty overtones and sympathetic harmonics that rear their ugly head both while recording & preforming live... Enter Fretwraps! These little gems strap neatly onto the neck and cut all those unwanted overtones dead in their tracks without harming your instrument or having to bring your instruments into the shop to do a hardware modification. Simply place them right behind the fret you are working with and blaze away cleanly. For live work – I leave these puppies placed right behind the “zero fret” of my MTD Kingston Basses (Buzz Feiten tuning system) and it makes one hell of a difference in getting thing across to the amp cleanly. My only problem – have to get more as I keep giving the things away to other bassists!
