These pictures of Sandy Busby were taken 10 days ago at the MUST screening of the BELIEVE film. He stayed for 90 minutes after the screening to answer questions and chat with genuine enthusiasm. He was so great with the young fans too - being careful to ask their names and remember them when he spoke later. He was in such great spirits its hard to believe hes passed away. His taxi failed to turn up so me and Sean Bones had the privilege of driving him home and had a wonderful chat with him. We were buzzing as we drove away from his cottage. We went via Whalley Range on the way to drop my son off and Sandy diverted us to 33 Coleridge Road to show us Sir Matts first house in Manchester and then onto 100 College Road - where Jimmy Delaney had lived on the first floor with Allenby Chilton on floor 2. He said it later it became the home of Jimmy Murphy. Sandy was a patron of MUST up until the Glazer takeover and he always remained a great friend and helped us on numerous occasions. When we held a dinner to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Sir Matts birth he let us go through his treasure trove of memorabilia from his Dad which he kept in boxes in the garage. We photographed all the items to use pictures in a slideshow, and perhaps for posterity too, including some great personal pictures that thrilled his family. Such a lovely man - great fun and so passionate in his support of United. RIP Sandy.
