They call us the millennials, the children of the 21st century. We are a generation often characterized by the stupid, idiotic, asinine, and the lazy aspects of some of us. This is wrong. We should be characterized by the fear, morals, coping mechanisms, and experiences we have been brought into. As a generation we are not simply a group of uncultured pregnant teens or whatever they want to characterize us as, we are much more than that. Many of us are the kinds of people who looked into the future and imagined robot dogs and flying skateboards, cold fusion and clean energy. But now when we look into the future we see militant governments, faceless oppression, desolated lands and barely surviving as the majority. We are scared of the futures of us and those we will leave behind. Its evident in our stories, movies, imaginations, and art. We are young, impressionable, and less innocent than our predecessors. We are young, knowledgeable, and very, very, afraid of whats to come.
