Thgil had grown stronger during their long walk. It could have - TopicsExpress

Thgil had grown stronger during their long walk. It could have been the fresh air and the lean diet of no stress that put muscle onto her thin frame. Encouraging her to wear flowers in her hair again and to laugh out loud as butterflies crossed their path, she clapped her hands in happy pleasure. Skipping up the hill the Dreamer left her brother behind, You’ll never catch me silly, it was the happiest she had been for many months. How can I go skipping up hills carrying the most precious possession we own? His thoughts were meant as a rebuke, but Thgil’s joy was such, that the dark days, and past weeks seemed like a nightmare now, one of her terrible dreams that she had recently awoken from. She turned her head and laughed. Stopping mid skip the Dreamer bent down and looked about her feet, she had found her way into a patch of sky blue cornflowers. Sitting down amongst them she began to fashion a circlet to place upon her head. The silvery blonde hair had grown also. No longer was it short and spiky but sat in soft curls framing her face. She was a beautiful woman and as Krad approached his sister, and her intent crafting the Un-name marvelled at such a transformation. “We’ll be caught out in the open if you insist on stopping on every hill to pick flowers Thgil.” “You’re just jealous because you can’t wear flowers in your hair.” She offered him a crooked smile. “Sure fashion me a crown of ‘hurry-go-lucky’ that will get us to Talc quicker than this trudging. Oh and while you’re at it could you find anyone not clouded by that creature’s bewitching?” Thgil finished her headband, placed it firmly over a cloud of curls and spoke in that solemn manner she had when portending a future of some kind. “Oh there is no need to worry about the others Krad. They’ll be fine in their own way and besides the good Doctor will be waiting.” “What do you mean the Doctor?” She stood and did a twirl. “So, what do you think?” Krad’s face thundered. The burden he carried was heavy, growing heavier with every step but it weighted as it was he’d carry it to the Seven Hells and back if need be. “Stop your fooling about Thgil. Have you been dreaming? Tell me what do you know?” “If you’re going to speak to me in a voice like that I shan’t tell you a thing.” It was almost looking at the old Thgil. Puerile in all its form, she waved her arms back and forth, sending herself forward once again up the hill. The cornflower crown bounced a little on top of her curly head and Krad could hear her softly laughing. “Alright then, I’m sorry!” He actually meant it. He heard her shout out. “Dollet is already at Talc and before you ask, I don’t know how such a fat man was able to get there before us, but he is there.” She began to skip again. Krad sighed and hefted the heavy sack up a little higher on his shoulder. The seven crystals were cumbersome and often poked him leaving sore spots on his back but their worth went beyond a few bruises. The dark Un-named followed the Dreamer, up to the top of the hill and over the other side, down into another valley.
