Things I learned in 2014: 1. There are about 5,829 different shades of grey...not just 50! [trust me...I had to go through all of the paint samples!] 2. Life is not island; this solitary place where our choices and actions dont ripple out through the water and touch other people. We walk through this world together...whether we know it or not. And in doing so, we also find ourselves at the mercy of other peoples choices. Choices we may not like...and choices we may not be able to change. But we can resist the tide and go down drowning...or we can ride it...and soar. 3. British television is stinkin amazing!! Sherlock & Downton Abbey are my jam! 4. There is such a thing as too many caramel vanilla drumsticks [sadly!]! 5. Art makes the world go around. Obviously, as an artist myself, I should already know this. But 2014 really brought it home for me as I watched the huge impact that art has on humanity. Whether it be Alzheimer patients coming to life while listening to music...a writer recovering from near death while completing his book...or the craft that Im fortunate enough to call my every day life. Art saves lives...changes lives...and inspires lives. 6. There are wars and there are battles. And losing the battle doesnt mean that youve lost the war. Happy New Year, friends! Every year another promise is made // A pint of beer raised towards a better day // Lets find a star // a star to call our own // And make a wish // maybe we can make it home... - Edwin // Alive
