Things that the Bible teaches us about husbands and wives is as follows. 1. The wife is to be the helper of the husband. Not the co ruler but his helper. 2. The wife is the "glory " of the husband. This means that he should treat her as something precious to give him glory. 3. The husband should be the provider and guider to the family. The opinion of the wife is always encouraged and listened but his decision is the final one. 4. The husband is to love the wife as Christ loved the church. 5. The wife should give honor to the husband, as well as obedience. God holds the husband 100 % responsible for the decisions of the family.
