Thirty Days of Thanksgiving - I am thankful for my favorite cancer survivor - Catherine Kerley! Albion College had its Relay for Life tonight (6pm to 6am tomorrow morning). They invited some community members to participate - walk the Survivor Lap, etc. They had a Survivor (and Caregiver) Dinner after the Survivor Lap. We got to meet 3 college students - one music major who was a Virtual Survivor (her boyfriend was diagnosed with - I think she said pancreatic cancer), the student who was the survivor organizer, and her mother, who prepared the food, and a Delta Sig was was diagnosed with leukemia over the summer and thought he wouldnt be able to come back to college this year - and the cook for his fraternity house, also a survivor. As a small world thing, the organizers previous high school Spanish teacher now teaches Spanish at Albions schools and is a survivor. It was really neat getting to talk to these neat people. As we were finishing up our dinner and conversation, the swim team walked in (they won tonight - yay!), along with Mary Ann Egnatuk. So we gave the room over to them, because we like her! :)
