This Mothers Day sentiment from Brian Burns is beautiful and worth a read. She always believed in me. When she had money, she bought me the record albums and the musical instruments my soul cried for... and then she hauled me and those instruments around to my first gigs. And when the other kids rejected me because I played musical instruments instead of football, she became the friend I needed. She didnt pretend to believe I had talent, she believed I had talent - she believed. Then, when I began to achieve some success in the music business, she took pride. When peers rejected me because my voice was different, or my songs were about things other than those which were acceptable for songs to be about, or my chords were different than the chords on the radio, she embraced them. She was proud of me. Like everyone else, Im not sure she always understood me, but she was proud of me. Always. So, on this Mothers Day in 2014, I stand proudly and steadfastly - at a place I could never have reached without her - with a wisdom I could never have attained without her - and with a love and peace in my heart that I could never have known without her... and I proclaim without shame or reservation: I love my mother, and God, I miss her. -Brian Burns
