This Thursdays SACRED CODES lecture explores THE BYZANTINE TRADITION, beginning with the foundations of CHRISTIAN MYTH - its Hero Journey of the Soul - and moves on to the unique codes of Byzantine art - the underlying geometry for constructing the face, figure and composition - and concludes with a survey of their unique iconography.
