This UPDATE has been a while in coming. I apologize. As I go through this struggle and get ready to give an update, Im quickly reminded that Im no one important and that my trip is nothing compared to what so many more are going through, with a lot less, and a lot fewer family and friends. So, thank you, and God bless you all. At the end of May, we saw the result of an entire bone scan. It shows the progression of the cancer throughout the skeleton. There have developed two patches of cancer in the right skull. The little cancerous spots that we had seen in previous scans have become patches that are easily seen. Both hips are pretty much involved, shoulders, knees, etc. My PSA has climbed and we increased the amount of hormone treatment. Almost a year on Zytiga of just 1 pill a day when the dosage is usually 4 pills a day has kept my PSA down, high for everyone else but good from where Ive been. I am now taking 3 pills a day. Went through some pain med changes, became extremely dry during the summer. I could barely swallow. Had to have water just to get enough wet to take my pills. End of July beginning of August is a blur to me because of this. Carol was scared because she thought I was losing it, but I was trying to swallow and talk, Just couldnt do it. A fog for a bit there. Hospice was called in again and we have gotten things leveled off...again. I am weak and very limited in what Ive been doing. Praise God, Ive been in the pulpit every week. Only missed 1 Wed. night Bible study. Its not much but I love to teach and preach. So anyway, In a few weeks, I will be meeting with my oncologist again, have blood work done and see where everything stands. The last blood work, in July, showed that all organs are still functioning. Praise God!
