This Wednesday, August 20th, marks the start of a new school year for Northmont City Schools. It is that time of year to start sharing the road with the yellow school buses and being more vigilant for children walking to and from school each day. Motorists are reminded to reduce their speed to 20 mph in all marked school speed limit zones whenever children are present (flashing lights do not need to be present or operating); and to stop for any school bus that is actively loading or unloading students (except when traveling the opposite direction on a divided roadway or when there are four or more lanes of travel). Finally, congratulations to the Northmont Transportation Department on their 27th consecutive year of perfect school bus inspections. Great job!
