This afternoon I went to Trinity Church in Sutton Coldfield to read a poem at the Christmas Memorial Service; At one point everyone lit their candle for the person they had lost during the year, while a really talented singer called Junior Chirambo sang I watch the Sunrise for the congregation; it was really lovely and very moving. After the service we all went and had mince pies and mulled wine and I got to catch up with one particular family that Id done a service for a few weeks ago. I talked to quite a few other people too and it really came home to me just how hard and how lonely this time of year is for so many. Even though they may have other family and friends to turn to and to be with, they have lost their beloved and its just really hard for them at Christmas. However, there is also something really kind and reassuring about this time of year and maybe it gives people hope for the future. youtu.be/vm-A5NlkI8U
