This animal is Eunice aphroditois – also known as the Bobbit earthworms, obviously after a marine photographer made the decision two years ago that its tracking techniques were similar to the Bobbitt family occurrence of 1993. They have harmful toxic bristles up and down their whole body that can cause life lasting nervous system harm to anyone who touches them, and they feed by grabbing their prey with massive, strong jaws and sucking it down into the sand. Unlucky creatures are sometimes sliced in two because of the speed and strength of the worm’s attacks, and it can dish out nasty bites to any humans who stray too close. To get a feeling of how horrible these worms are, at Newquay’s Red Offshore Seafood tank in the U.K., they couldn’t determine what was consuming all fish each evening. They set up hooks and fishing line, and every morning hours the collections were clicked and the hook varieties and baits were gone. After taking the aquarium apart, they discovered a large hobbit worm in the sand that had been eating fishing hooks! They are found in deep shallow trivial rich waters with only about a Tenth of their whole body placing out of the sand and their mouth extended wide. As soon as one of their antenna senses something in the water, they lunge for it, even if it’s significantly bigger than they are. Their strikes, it should be described, are so impressive that they’ll sometimes accidentally just cut fish into two while trying to get them. So don’t be deceived by the point that, up near, it’s the iridescent colour of a water creature but a deep dark murderer. OMG DID YOU SEE THESE ?
