This article is important in any society anywhere today, our boys are being raised horribly wrong. In countries where all the women are covered and there is no percievable way of devouring the female body in any overt sense, there is still threat of harassment and eve teasing if a woman from inside her niqab so much as glances at the face of a man. Respect for the boundaries and consent of a woman sounds like folklore to me, and Im sure most of the women my age. My mother has always told me men outside the house are licentious and I must do whatever it takes to protect myself from them. But when it comes time to question Why, it doesnt add up because Im supposed to be living in a muslim country, with muslim values. And I know for a fact that Islam hasnt neglected the respect due to women. So who/what in their social/educational sphere has given them the false security that it is ok to behave this way?
