This day is the day that one of the greatest men I have ever know was born. A man that is as perfect as our Lord allows one human to be. He fought for us in the Air Force for twenty years of his life while raising a wonderful family and although for whatever reason when that family no longer stayed up under the same roof, he met my mother and made his already large family larger by becoming my father. He took me and my sisters and my beautiful mother and built an awesome life for me that included two wonderful brothers and a sister that I may not have been right next to growing up, but I have only known them as my own. When I was a little girl he went to night classes while working as a police officer to better his income so that we could all have enough to fill bellies and put shoes on our feet. He got promoted through the years to Lieutenant and trained for Swat and Im sure he faced many things that would have haunted most folks but I wouldnt know because through those next twenty years he never brought it home. And as it should be all I knew was that he was Awesome and that he was my DAD! I put the poor man through hell as a teen but when the tide turned and my chips were down he was there. He took me by the hand and taught me how to be a good mom while he helped me raise my family. A few years ago he retired, and then became a U.S. Marshall cause retirement couldnt hold a good man down. I think he might have retired like five more times before mom finally got a good grip and he stayed retired lol! You have taught me the rights, the wrongs, Who I am and who I want to be, and if I could just be a small peace of the beautiful person you are I will have earned the love you so freely gave all my life!!! This man, this Father of mine has my total respect, and all the love a daughter can feel. Roy E. Mattocks, You are the Man of Men and Dad of Dads and I LOVE YOU!!!
