This group never ceases to amaze me with your pictures, genealogy, and the comments which always enhance the original post. With that in mind, I am going to ask something of each and every member on here. Melvin Walker and I would like to publish a book of Between the River Before and After. Others may want to take part in collecting this information since we have not met yet. We would like at least one person from every county to participate in this and I had also thought about Ira Scott since he knows as much or more than most of us about many parts of BTR. We can actually use the Social Book application for FB to publish individual books, but it is more expensive per copy than traditional publishing. If we have enough information, we could go with professional publishing and take orders for books. We would set a separate site up for that since we do not allow advertising on this site. Right now we are in the process of collecting photographs which is where you come in. We would like a photograph of every home place, church, school, or business which ever stood in BTR along with a picture of the area today. If you would like to include a picture of your family who lived there, that would be great. For each picture this is what we need: List the County, the family who owned or lived there, an address or community if known, and your name as contributor. If there is other pictures of building or orchards or even gardens/field you would like include, post them as well. EXAMPLE: Lyon County; Owner: Edd Lawrence; Sardis community on the road between Homers Rays and Kuttawa Ferry. Addition information is welcomed, but it may be edited. If you dont have a picture of what it looks like now, my other name is HAVE CAMERA WILL TRAVEL. Lol. Melvin is also great at that. I am also willing to meet anyone with pictures or come to your home in Western Kentucky to take photographs. I am setting a year timeline for collecting this information (April 18th, 2015). Who knows? This may become a multivolume set...lol.
