This idea started 3 years ago when I was building my Jeep JK for the King of the Hammers EMC Race. I tried to buy an Atlas but the wait time prevented me from being able to get one in time. I had read about, heard about others experiences and had a t-case blow up on a Jeep JK I built with under 150 miles on it. I was running 5.38 gears and 35 tires. I knew that the race would be hard on part and that the reality of bending a driveshaft was high. I wanted to guarantee that I would not have my race cut short by the OEM T-Case. I looked a the T-case and came up with this idea. Anything would be better than nothing to me at this point. I built the plate on the back first and was pretty happy with the idea. I continued to look at the case and knew that I needed as much support by the front output as I could get, so I added the front bracing to it and threw the T-Case back in my Jeep. Before I shared my idea with anybody I wanted to really put my Jeep to the test and to have faith in the product through my own experiences. Over the past 3 years I have had the chance to use and abuse my Jeep JK and have not had any t-case failure. I have run with a bent driveshaft at high speed during the EMC race in 2013. I blew up the front driveshaft and broke a pinion yoke during the American Rock Sports Challenge in 2012 without damage to the case and I have been racing and jumping the Jeep for 3 seasons of Lucas Oil Regional races. Three years later I showed the product to Rock-Slide Engineering. They liked the idea and agreed to build this part. It is now a Rock-Slide Engineering part and I am proud to be able to offer this part to those of you looking for some additional strength and support of your Transfercase. For those of you who have never seen or heard of the transfer cases breaking here is some insight. Most Driveshaft manufacturers cannot spin the driveshaft in their balancer as they spin on your JK with the lower gears installed. An out of balance or bent drive shaft, or failed cv center ball can cause this. The T-Case in the picture was driving down the interstate at 75mph with brand new driveshafts in it when the explosion happened. The Catalytic converter and exhaust on the driver side was ruined, obviously the driveshaft blew up and the t-case had to be replaced. The dealership would not warranty anything due to the aftermarket driveshaft on the Jeep. From noticing a problem to blown t-case took about 5 seconds. No where enough time to slow down or prevent the damage. Many of you have had your aftermarket CV drive shafts on your Jeep for a few years now and the cv center may start to show signs of wear. This product is a cheap insurance to help you from having your transfercase from blowing up on you. The kit retails at $199.99. I am selling them at the Jeep Safari price of $159.99 and including free shipping to the lower United States. Dealer inquiries are welcome through Impulse Off Road or through Rock-Slide Engineering direct. Please feel free to call me at 801-599-1609 or send me an email at impulseoffroad@gmail. I currently have 10 kits available and have more in production as we speak. The kit includes all hardware, drill bit and tap. Spacers are included to fit the different variations of the stock JK T-Case. These fit Rubicon and non-Rubicon models. 1 Part # fits all models. If you get a kit and require a different spacer we will make the spacer and ship it to you free of charge. **Not all models need the drill bit and tap. Some 2012 and newer need them**
