This is a comment from a Malaysian Insider reader to Zaid Ibrahims blog post. Indeed the questions raised are pertinent to the Kidex issue, but most glaring of all is the silence of PR leaders. ---------------------------- There are only 3 things that I could think off re Kidex, especially with the way Pakatan is responding. 1. Pakatan is plain stupid - they seemed to have forgotten what the word PROMISE means. And so they would end up making the same mistake that Najibs BN made - renege on GE promises. If Najib reneged on the Sedition Act, which Pakatan politicians waste no time in amplifying - and still do - then how does it look when they themselves renege on Buku Jinggas No More Tolled roads? 2. Pakatan Sgor has calculated the cost benefit, and they figure theyd still be in power, even if theyd lose a few votes as a result of kidex. Which brings us back to point 1 - they lied, or they are stupid, or maybe both. Did Pakatan miscalculate when the Buku Jingga manifesto was prepared and promoted to the masses? If so, then I am concerned - that they could boo-boo on a major, life changing development. If you wanted to retain tolled roads - then say so. Dont miscalculate and then go back to the voters with tai-chi 101. And that also makes me wonder, just how do you expect Pakatan to keep their other promises - eg bring petrol price down? Or no GST? Or do away with Sedition Act? 3. A remote, but not an improbable nor an impossible scenario, would be that someone, is getting Benefit$.....after all, we are only too aware of politicians in power...which is also what Zaid is alluding to in his letter... If that is so, that brings me to point no 1 again - just why is someone so stupid, to forget the ideals that Pakatan was founded upon? We complain so often that UMNO has strayed far from its founding fathers ideals....Heres Pakatans founding fathers are still alive and kicking, but my God, what a damned (pardon my language) level of silence from all of them re kidex. themalaysianinsider/sideviews/article/the-kidex-highway-zaid-ibrahim
