This is a great way to honor a veteran! (I did this last year and got a great pin to remember the occasion by) ---------- This Veterans Day Honor a Veteran with I Vote to Honor a Service Member Program Secretary of State Ross Miller Encourages Nevada Voters to Sign Up, and Post an Online Tribute to a Veteran or Active Duty Service Member Posted Date: 11/8/2013 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Catherine Lu (Carson City, NV; November 8, 2013) - Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller says it takes just a couple minutes to honor a veteran or active duty service person this Veterans Day by participating in the I Vote to Honor a Service Member program. The program recognizes the service and dedication of the women and men of the United States Armed Forces by encouraging Nevadans to register to vote in honor of the service member of their choice. Participants can then post a special dedication message on the website in honor of the veteran they are recognizing. Whether youre honoring someone who served decades ago or an active duty member of our military, this is an excellent way to recognize their invaluable contribution, said Miller. Ultimately, its our military that has protected our system of democracy for more than 200 years. We should all be reminded of that. Participants submit a message on an application form and will receive a limited edition lapel pin with the I Vote to Honor a Service Member logo. Messages may be published on a special testimonial section of the Secretary of States website. Voters can download the application form at nvsos.gov/index.aspx?page=1242. The opportunity to post messages honoring veterans and active duty service members is available to all participants. # # #
