This is a little long but important. Please read it all. There is a code word somewhere in this email. If you reply back to me with the code word, you will be eligible for a special Browns drawing prize. Everybody replying with the code word will go into a drawing for a nice Browns gift. Well, its finally here! After months of no football and then a month of camp and another month of fake football, we are ready to start our 2014 season of optimism. I maintain, why NOT us this year? The Flash Gordon nightmare notwithstanding, we have real talent on this squad. Our defense will keep us in just about every game. Hoyer and the offense is coming around. Remember, do not put any credence in the pre-season games. From last years team, we have upgraded at quarterback, running back, offensive line, secondary, linebacker and stayed the same with special teams (upgrade with Travis Benjamin healthy this year), defensive line and tight end. The only area of regression is wide receiver because of the loss of Gordon. All other receivers are upgrades. Remember the 1999 Rams? They were 4-12 in 98 and then lost their starting QB in camp. They went on to win the Super Bowl. How about last years Chiefs? 2012 team went 2-14 and had the worst record in the NFL. Last year they went 11-5 and to the playoffs. Why not us? Im not saying we are going to the Super Bowl (but Im not saying we arent) but 10-6 or 11-5 is realistic if we stay healthy and the team comes together. So, Game 1 against our hated Shitsburgh Squeelers is upon us and we need to show total support for our beloved Brownies AND our new establishment. We want EVERY ONE OF YOU to show Sunday. Here are the details. As is our club tradition, we will start it off with a huge tailgate party at 10:00. We will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs, chips, potato salad, beer, soft drinks, water, etc. Obviously we will have the normal music, corn hole and a special new tradition you wont want to miss. The food will be served at 11:00 and will shut down at 12:00. The beer will shut down at 12:30 so dont be late. As another benefit of being a BBB member, this party is FREE for all members and will cost $8 for non-members and guests. If you are not a member yet, you can join Sunday and get your party for free. Before the game, we will have our customary Terrible Towel burning ceremony. We will also be enlarging one, matting and framing it to hang inside Beefs. We will be taking it our front by our banner promptly at 12:40.
