This is a older movie created as a labor of love by newly arrived young Cubans awhile back about an event which happened in Cuba around 1994 it gives an idea of the desperation of people at that time, right after Russia pulled its help which kept the country badly aflot but afloat. You can witness the homophobia, the police brutality of that era. Things are not like that anymore, it was called El Periodo Especial. The director came to the US as a kid he got the idea of the movie from a tiny article about the main event which was only given an unimportant 2x3 space on the NY times To get subtitles just click on the cc square by the time line. If you have time it is a very powerful movie to watch, hard to relate to if you have never lived elsewhere than the US, which is worse in police brutality and many other issues.
