This is a true incident. At that time I was working in a Regional Office. On that day, I was deputed to a branch for a surprise inspection. When I reached the branch at around 10 in the morning, a tense situation appeared to be prevailing in the branch. Staff members were standing in groups and hotly discussing some issue. The branch manager was also talking over phone to Regional Manager. When informed that I had reported at the branch, the Regional Manager asked the BM to hand over the phone to me. The RM then informed me that the branch has reported a molestation case and instructed me to enquire about it and submit a report. On enquiry, I was informed that a sub staff (who belonged to a rival Union) attempted to hug a lady sweeper from behind while she was sweeping the premises. The sub staff stoutly denied this, but other members were united that the sub staff should be punished for the misdemeanour. Later that day, when I returned to RO, I heard that another incident had happened in another branch and the DCO had gone there for enquiry. The head messenger of that branch had slapped another messenger, who happened to be from a SC/ST community and it became a big issue. While we were discussing these two issues my friend quipped என்னதான் பண்ணறது. அடிச்சுகிட்டாலும் பிரச்னை. அனசுக்கிட்டாலும் பிரச்னை. (What is one supposed to do? Slapping is a problem, hugging is also a problem)
