This is an audio clip of one of my best AM DX catches ever. This is second to getting KNBR 680 San Francisco, CA in Northern Mississippi. One day in 2008 I was passing through Marion IL before I worked there.... was staying in town the night, pulled a boombox out of the truck put batteries in and hit record on the tape as I tuned the dial to find WGGH AM 1150. Took me a minute to find it.. it is a 44W 2 tower night signal and I was 5 miles west of its north/south pattern. A few days later when I was at KNLV, I was dubbing this tape off in the production room.. specifically for the weather forecast Id recorded for WGGH that ran on the air that night. As I was going through the tape I heard something I wasnt expecting to hear.. This: onairdj/1140.mp3 Youre tuned to Classic Country KCLE 1140 Cleburne Burleson Crowley Pretty spectacular catch considering what station i was semi close to, even if in a somewhat null.. and considering KCLEs night facilities.
