This is an interesting story. I wonder what some of my friends who have served think. In my opinion, I could care less if our Army was predominantly white, black or purple. All due respect to Col. Irving Smith, but its not the Armys job to be representative of the people of America, in racial terms, particularly when its a volunteer army. Its their job to be effective and complete their missions. THAT is how they earn the trust and confidence of the people. Not by equally reflecting racial demographics.
