This is for those of you that do not realize our teachers are held accountable for student test scores, yet the students are not. We can have our jobs taken away from us just because a group of teens know they do not have to take the test seriously, heck they dont even have to pass it, and they move on to the next grade level. Anyone else out there have a job that your evaluation is solely based on two days worth of testing pubescent humans? Possibly, the worst way to evaluate any individuals in any profession ever. I agree teachers should be held accountable, but how about extending that requirement on to the parents and students, as well. Last time I checked it took a village to raise a child and not just the public educators responsibility. Ironically, us teachers continue to show up daily and provide plenty of parenting skills while doing our best to help these children learn. While so many people that are not in education complain...e do my job. And dont come for a day, we need great educators so give up your day job and take an opening in one of our public schools. When you are setting the standard for the rest of us, I will give you your credit. Until then, remember we do this because we care about and have dedicated our lives to your children. Stop in and lend a hand before you criticize the wonderful people doing their best to create young people on a track that will allow them the skills needed to be a productive piece of society.
