This is for those who werent able to make it and were asking for a recording. Thirst was written by Charity Peeler and myself. The songs concept draws from the opening chapters of Ecclesiastes and from Isaiah 55. So thankful to work on this with such a talented and humble musician/vocalist like Charity. Zachary Fuller on percussion. VC: Timur Nesbitt Im trying to get into blending hip-hop with more live instrumentation, which I think makes it so much more raw and emotive, so any musicians in the Ville interested in that, please get at me! And if there are any Questloves out there, I wouldnt mind that. Haha. LYRICS: Come everyone who thirsts Come to the waters Weak and the poor, Naked and needy, His love pours Verse 1: You ever thought about the vanity of life? Thatll give your sanity a battle you dont like Like youre stranded in a pit without light And youre abandoned now reality is handing you a knife Well this is the Academy of Sight Im shining on the gravity to tap into the light The universal plight of humanity just might Make you ripe to the fact there is something more to life The wind blows from the east and the west And the seasons repeat for the seasons are set Streams flow into the sea in their depths Yet the seas never full so the streams never end The sun rises keeping in step then it sets with unceasing and tedious reps I reflect how my life is a speck and Im weary and vexed Whats the meaning? Im stressed And so downcast as the hours pass My flesh is as grass in this hourglass Circling in circles in the circle of life, Adrift in the open ocean and Im surfing the tide I am certain to die! Cant stand to find that Im less than a grain in the sands of time As I always go from happiness to tragedy, gradually collapsing the distraction of my fantasy Then I always go from vanity to vanity Yet in this state contentment is the measure of insanity Maybe Im discerning theres a purpose but Im scarred Maybe someone put eternity into my heart Yet I pass away with my work in vain Im fast to the grave yet the earth remains My life is a flash full of hurt and pain, And after I pass who will know my name? Chorus: All these things my soul believes And yet my choices prove that I love dying rather than living Oh my God When will I understand that your ways are higher than my ways? The wind it blows and goes Im up with its ebb and flow Obsessed and then depressed Anxious and not tasting on your holiness Verse 2: What is your life but a time that is set till the time that is kept for the time of your death? What is your chance but a line in the sand with a span that is gone when the tides to advance? What if the stuff that you love with the lust and the plush and the pleasure of flesh aint enough to sustain a return to the dust when youre crushed and you blush as your past is confirmed by the Judge? What if you heard this word of salvation? Come all sinners, naked and heavy laden Disgraced and with Satan, depraved and complacent, Enslaved in your chains and ashamed and forsaken All hell-deserving, selfish and self-serving Come legalistic with the weight of your burdens Come all you calloused, cut off and cursed Weary and anxious, come all who thirst! Chorus: All these things my soul believes And yet my choices prove that I love dying rather than living Oh my God When will I understand that your ways are higher than my ways? The wind it blows and goes Im up with its ebb and flow Obsessed and then depressed Anxious and not tasting on your holiness Come everyone who thirsts Come to the waters, weak and the poor, naked and needy, His love pours
