This is from a very good friend to the Florence shelter animals. He is doing something very special for them and only asks us to help find indoor loving homes for Blackie and Baby. I am asking you to post these kitties to all of your kittie loving friends. Debby Nelson Both of these little darlings came to us several months ago. They were dumped by someone. As soon as we rescued them I took them to Dr Dan Whitlow at Helton Plaza Veterinary hospital. He checked them over good and did appropriate shots. Blackie has club feet and tested positive for FIV. Dr Dan says he can live for years without any symptoms or danger to Baby. Here is an excerpt from the internet about his condition. How Is FIV Transmitted? FIV is mainly passed from cat to cat through deep bite wounds, the kind that usually occur outdoors during aggressive fights and territorial disputes—the perfect reason to keep your cat inside. Another, less common mode of transmission is from an FIV-infected mother cat to her kitten. FIV does not seem to be commonly spread through sharing food bowls and litter boxes, social grooming, sneezing and other casual modes of contact. We believe Blackie got in a fight after being dumped while protecting Baby. He is very protective of her. He has been an inside cat although he was outside when we rescued him. He will sit in your lap for hours and let you pet him. I have had him neutered and his teeth cleaned. All shots are done on time. Baby was about 4 months old when we rescued her. Other than the fact that she has only 3 feet she is perfectly normal and I believe she is a Ragdoll breed. She has been fixed and all of her sots are up to date. She is precious. Both of these babies live at T & G Auto Sales. My son, Greg, who works there and is there more than me is allergic to cats and sometimes his eyes will swell almost shut. Some of our customers have also complained. We need to find them a good home where they can live inside and get a lot of love. Both of them are litter box trained.
