This is from my friend, Laurie Stauffer God always meets you at the level of your expectations. Therefore, if your faith rests in all that is not right or going well for you, God cannot help, bless or save you anymore than your expectation of what you believe you’re worthy of or deserve. Why? Because, He honors your free will and does so Perfectly! The great question then is: not whether you “have faith” but what you have “faith in.” Does your faith rest in God’s Abundant Nature, Willingness (and Ability) to answer your dreams and prayers (that is, in His Infinite Wisdom - not yours - of Knowing, not only what is best for you but the timing of it) or…in your own ability to create, attract and experience, unworthiness, lack and challenge? Whenever you feel life is being unusually cruel and unfair, consider that the results of the expectations you currently hold, are the mirror showing you the error in what you believe and where your faith truly lies. For know that, God is in fact, just waiting, to bless you with His goodness! He is waiting however, for you to change your mind about what you seem to think you are deserving of! Moral: Whether you’re making the choice on a moment to moment basis, to believe in the best possible outcome or worst, God responds to your expectations perfectly and delivers accordingly. Therefore, cultivating a life of “Positive Expectancy” and “Gratitude” are the states of mind required in order to experience God’s Grace. Those who consider themselves fortunate no matter their circumstances, are invariably likely to have experiences which elevate them beyond those circumstances. If you go through life expecting the worst however, don’t be surprised to receive it…again and again and again! Exercise: Endeavor to greet each day with “the expectancy” that God not only has your best interests at heart but IS faithfully working to bring them to fruition in His divine timing. Your “task,” is only to Trust - having the presence of mind and open heartedness to notice, receive and act upon blessings and opportunities as they present themselves. You must remember that, while you are “in” the world, God’s miracles come from “beyond” it. To receive them requires a certain leap of faith and a willingness - to let go of what you believe has always been true for you (but doesn’t have to be). The key to a different experience, is always a change of mind. Changing your mind in one moment not only has the power to transform your perception of that very moment, but make a world of difference in your experience of tomorrow!
