This is interesting. It shows a very well trained horse, and a lot of creativity. It illustrates some of the fundamental differences of the cowboy approach vs. Pony Club approach aka British Horse Society. Id have the horse positioned by the fence, where there would be built it steps, each one a large enough platform to work from. The increments are small in height, making it easy for people to step up and down. Picture an A frame over the corral fence. Bridle goes on first, the rest of the work done with an arm looped loosely through the reins. When the saddle is placed on the back of the horse, the stirrups are either pulled up, or folded across the saddle, so they dont bang onto the horses back and sides during placement. Being able to mount from the elevated platform keeps the horse out of the dirt, and the rider doesnt have to lurch about when the horse regains his footing. But you know...thats just me. This old guy rocks, and so does his horse.
