This is my horse being lunged last night. I did not have to use - TopicsExpress

This is my horse being lunged last night. I did not have to use the lunge whip on him once nor did I touch him with it. He was having difficulty listening to my voice commands and was acting oppositional. I did not get ill or frustrated at him but when he acted up, I made sure to let him know that he is not going to dictate what I do. The owner of the facility said that I could not corner off a section of the arena, nor does she think that the facility needs a round pen. She has her reasons but I care not go in detail. However we may be putting him in a pasture today with two horses that dont let other horses get attached to them. They arent mean, but they are independent. Oh and I found out that my horse backs up to his pasture buddy sometimes and kick him while he is eating so he can eat his food. Thats why I have been noticing more oats in his poop. Oh and one last thing, I am going to be doing online nursing classes to get my degree so I can still spend some time with my horse. Wednesday when we went trail riding with an older horse in his 20s, almost the entire time my horse kept wanting to trot the whole way, pull me, and wanting to go in a pasture. Every time he kept pulling me or wanting to trot, I would ask him to walk and then if he didnt apply the reins, then if he still didnt I made him back up. We did this so much the ride wasnt that fun at all. He did one time got frustrated and popped up off the ground a little but I got firm with him and didnt let him have his way. My trail partner said I handled it well. I am getting very frustrated with this horse. He is getting a new saddle soon because mine is partly broken on the edge, but even without saddle he can oppositional. Any suggestions?
