This is not a perfect series, but the great things nestled inside - TopicsExpress

This is not a perfect series, but the great things nestled inside of it elevate it great heights. Jeffrey Tambor is getting to do the thing hes trained his entire career for, which is play a fully fleshed out human whos engaging in the most precarious change you could imagine; not since Hank Hey Now Kingsley has this guy essayed something so easily. The rest of the cast (save Judith Lights Jewish mother) does great work in small spaces with shades and nuances, with Gaby Hoffman boldly leading the way. Ten half hour episodes go by in a flash, which says good things about Jill Soloways leadership.
