This is one of the silliest articles I have read recently. Fallacies in reasoning, as well as giving facts a wide berth, contribute to discrediting her conclusion: I contend that the shift from reading in print to reading on digital devices is further reducing students’ pursuit of work in the humanities. The author appears to have lifted much of her thesis from Robert Putnam (who had lifted his from others while ignoring years of empirical research.)
