This is one tired pup and one tired kitty! This is what happens when you play so hard. Sarah took a nap in this little playpen while Faith played on the porch with Roger, then after Sarah woke up I saw Faith sleeping in the playpen. Someone asked how Sarah lets me know that she is ready for bed, as I had posted last night that she was asking me to take her to bed. She usually starts by sitting at the foot of my chair with her head hanging down. Any time I stand up, she jumps up and heads toward the bedroom. She only does this at bedtime. We have a nighttime routine that she has gotten spoiled to..... I put her in the playpen at the foot of our bed, then head to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I usually watch tv for a bit before going to sleep, so I turn the tv on before going into the bathroom. When I come back into the bedroom, Sarah is standing with her paws on the top rail of the playpen and her stuffed toy in her mouth as she waits for me to pick her up and put her onto my bed. She then takes her toy and lays in the middle of the bed and chews on the toy for about 30 to 45 minutes. She does this until she almost falls asleep, then I put her in her bed inside the playpen and she sleeps there all night, waking around 6 or 6:30 AM. She is so cute standing there peeking over the top of the playpen as she waits for me to return and put her on my bed. We have found that she will not lay down and got to sleep in her own bed until she has her time laying on our bed with her toy, no matter how late it is. So now I usually take her to bed between 8 and 9 PM, so she will be asleep by the time I get ready to go to sleep. She is VERY regimented to things like this and once she has a routine down, it is very difficult to change it with her. I am still getting Roger ready for his trip, as I have the litter, food, harness and leash ready to go, but the supplies (including the carrier) which his new mom ordered has not come in yet. She ordered it through Wal-Mart since we have a store in our town, and had it shipped to the local store. I thought this would be here in a day or so, but I checked with them today and it hasnt arrived yet. I sure hope they get it in before we get a call from the transport folks. They have a truck scheduled to arrive tonight so hopefully the supplies will be on that one.
