This is really so sad. We at PATCH do all we can to prevent abuse, but of course there will always be those that play the system Here, ALL referrals have to call Before they issue a voucher, but we dont limit the visits, it always dependent on circumstances. We do say have to say no, which is really hard, but sometimes by helping people you do the exact opposite. The great thing about Pembrokeshire is the agencies work together and talk to each other. It can only work properly if we do work together. When agencies arent sure if the client is genuine or not we have a back up plan, that usually works. Again it all works because we talk constantly to our referrals. When we hear a rumour about abuse, we investigate, and if found true it does get dealt with. We are flexible but also fairly strict!
