This is ridiculous! My husband and many other professors work so hard for the students that attend Louisiana universities. They have not had a raise in close to a decade, and are about to suffer more budget cuts. Universities are not big businesses with commodities that can be liquidated to recover losses. These cuts affect real people..the faculty and students whom our government claims to support. The men and women who work in higher ed, many of whom we know personally, hold PhDs from around the world, truly brilliant minds, who are being paid nothing for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence. Seriously, something has to be done. Education should be a top priority! Without it, how in the world can you possibly say, with complete honesty, that the future is bright for Louisiana.
