This is so me at work!! I function best in an environment where: There is little or no conflict—lots of rapport and cooperation I am free to help, and my contribution makes a difference I feel like I make a unique contribution, based on who I am I feel genuinely appreciated by those I work with I have the ability to be imaginative and creative, to help the company grow My contribution helps even beyond the workplace There is a warm, welcoming environment There is some support for my whole self, not just myself in my role at work I am able to successfully mediate differences of opinion, to create harmony The best way to engage me is by: Being open and friendly Seeking out my feelings on work issues Offering opportunities for me to be imaginative and creative Appreciating my contribution—and showing me your appreciation Helping me to understand a project more fully (not just parts of a project), so that I can help beyond expectations Please don’t: Alienate me Ignore me Tease me Suppress my creativity Forget to say “Thank you,” once in a while Raise your voice at me in anger Force me to neglect my family often
