This is so wrong so many ways. A woman got a twenty year sentence for firing a warning shot when threatened by an abusive husband, shes black and poor. (sentencing disparity) This man abused his children, and essentially walked after hiring a top law firm. (His wealth is inherited, which economist Thomas Piketty recently wrote in his new book leads to greater and greater inequality and can only be limited by strong inheritance taxation.) His appeal to the judge was that prison would do him harm (well, who knew? I suppose this will result in thousands of juvenile offenders getting scholarships then. Not) Miley Cyrus swishes her ass around and the media saturates the airwaves with coverage, this travesty wont light up the airwaves, Im guessing. (sensationalism rules) Et cetera ad infinitum.
