It seems that the older Aiden gets the harder of a time hes having with his loud outbursts, aggression & raging episodes. The littlest thing can set him off, only because he processes his emotions differently than so many of us. He is the sweetest, most thoughtful, creative and silliest kid but when something triggers his high intensity of emotions it can be a bit scary, especially for other kids. We have spent the last few years giving Aiden a structured life which has helped him tremendously. He loves school and does very well. We rarely ever hear negative feedback from any of his teachers, but we have seen him struggle at times in non-structured social settings. Luckily Aiden is always remorseful and is able to apologize but to see him experience these highs and lows breaks my heart. In honor of Autism Awareness Month I wanted to post a little insight as to how autism effects not only Aiden but our entire family. I hope one day we as a society can find answers in to understanding this complex diagnosis. I wouldnt change Aiden for world but Id definitely change the world for him. We work with the Autism Center and we are patiently waiting to meet with a psychologist so Aiden (& all of us as a family) can learn how to help Aiden process emotions and aggression. Aiden has a beautiful smile & heart and we love him so much. 💙 #autismawareness
