This is something very close to my heart and I hope my Fb friends will support me :) How many of you, as a Muslim are preserving Islam in its authentic form. In a society where Islamaphobia is rife and under constant scrutiny, being able to raise a family with correct Islamic values and representing Islam in its truest form has become that much harder. Our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, “when the son of Adam dies, his work (the return on his righteous deeds) will stop with death except from three ( 1) sadaka jariyah (running charity), 2) ilmun-yun-ta-fa-o-bih (useful knowledge), and 3) waladun-salihun-yado-lah (a righteous child who prays for him.) Islamic education is the key! Sadaka-jariyah and its impact continues with every graduating class, across generations. Knowledge that helps the spread and survival of Islam. Shapes future generation and most importantly produce scholars and leaders of tomorrow. Just imagine; without Islamic education how will the future generation fulfil its basic mandatories? Will they know the difference between halal and haraam, do Salah, recite Quran, fast or even perform death rites! “The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and knowing.” This is the nature of making business with Allah (Qur’an 61:11), up to 700 times reward and the return is guaranteed. -(Qur’an (2:261) By the grace of Allah, On the 15th April 2014 I will be embarking on a journey of a lifetime, both a physical and spiritual journey. Inshallah I intend on taking part in the Makka Twin Peaks Challenge for Ebrahim college. I will travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah and then climb up mount Noor and Thawr on the same day, in the heat of an Arabian summer’s day which takes upto 6hrs up. This will help Ebrahim college in East London who provide Islamic education to expand their services and to support their hardship fund scheme that helps people who cannot afford to study due to financial difficulties. This will be one of the hardest journeys of my life to date! And as my peers and friends, I humbly request foryour support. Please dig deep and donate however little or much you can. Every last penny will go a long way! We often donate to humanitarian causes, and rightly so, but the preservation of our beautiful deen is just as important. A friend of mine recently, upon her return from delivering aid to Srian refugee camps, told me about the story of one of the refugee men they were fortunate enough to have met. A hero in his own right, who despite having lost all his family was only concerned about the preservation of Islam. And that although these difficult times have caused families struggle and hardship, he did not want to let Islam collapse. We may lose our family, as we are all destined to die one day, but we cannot lose Islam #NB: The cost for Umrah trip is covered by myself and is not part of the sponsorship. All money raised goes direct to Ebrahim College/Khalil Foundation. Wa alaykumu Assalam justgiving/shanazriasoth-makkatwinpeaks2014
