This is the insult your suffer when you put square pegs in round holes--Shioorr--- I hope it is not true shaa! EXCLUSIVE: How Shagaya begged Ex-Governor Saraki, Ahmed over ministerial screening To ward off any opposition to her choice of a minister, Hajia Muinat Bola Shagaya, Monday drove to the private residence of a former Governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki, and begged profusely for a soft-landing for Dr. Abubakar Suleiman at the Senate, E-kwara can exclusively report. This medium learnt that Sen. Bukola Saraki, few hours to the screening of Kwara ministerial nominee, Dr. Abubakar Suleiman, had procured a classified documents, which allegedly contained criminal records of the Kwara ministerial nominee as a lecturer in Abuja. Armed with the documents, Saraki had reportedly approached the Senate President, Sen. David Mark, insisting that he would do everything ‘humanly possible’ to block Abubakar’s screening on the floor of the Senate because of his past malfeasance. A source, who is close to Dr. Saraki, informed E-kwara that Saraki and Gov Fatai Ahmed got wind of the criminal indictment of Dr. Abubakar by the authority of the University of Abuja in March, 2013. The said document was signed by Prof. E. B. Uwatt and Mrs. R. H. Swanta, both chairman and secretary of the committee set up by the former Vice-Chancellor of the institution, to look into the allegations brought against Dr. Abubakar Suleiman. This damning revelation necessitated the multi-billionaire to approach the former Governor at his Lake Chad residence, Maitama, Abuja, for a truce ahead of the senate screening of yesterday. “Shagaya was brought here by an Abuja based lawyer, Mr. Tahir Adebayo. She came in company of Dr. Abubakar Suleiman, who prostrated flat in front of the leader (Dr. Saraki), and asked for a soft-landing’, the source said. “Shagaya probably got wind of leader’s offensive against her puppet minister from Sen. David Mark. This is because the leader did not tell anyone about his intention apart from Mark. So, it is safe to say that she got the information from Mark, who naturally would do anything to protect President Goodluck Jonathan from any untoward advances of opposition elements in the Senate.” It will be recalled that this medium had exclusively reported that Senator Bukola Saraki and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, had perfected strategies to frustrate the screening of Dr. Abubakar Suleiman on the floor of the Senate. Among others, Sen. Saraki and Senator Shaaba Lafiagi, both APC senators, were said to have resolved not to let Abubakr’s screening see the light of the day. It became even messier when Saraki allegedly dug into Dr. Abubakar’s past in the UniAbuja and realized he had once been indicted for an undisclosed criminal offence. Dr. Abubakar had at separate times, been the Chairman and Secretary of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UniAbuja chapter. He was also the Head of the University’s Sultan Maccido Centre for Peace and Leadership Studies. He was, until his appointment, a senior lecturer of Political science
