This is the last time Ill bug you guys in this group for awhile, I promise! But I wanted to share this. Here is a photo of me with all three of the mustangs I have been rehabilitating and that are now available for new homes. This was taken the very first day that I was given permission to begin work with them, and I was told unequivocally that they were terrified of people and completely useless. That same day, we got halters on all three of them (Only SP was/is hard to catch) and wormed them, and picked up everyones front feet with little effort. People were dumbfounded. What they failed to recognize about these horses was how smart they are- if you dont touch them for years, of course theyre going to get bored and chew your fences. If you dont vet them for years, of course theyre going to run away when you back a vet truck up to their pen and pin them down for vaccinations. But when I treated them like smart, friendly horses who deserved respect, they ACTED like smart, friendly horses who deserve respect. They all need continued health care and training and attention, but just as much, they need a job, a purpose, and owners who are excited to prove what wonderful horses they can be. If youre interested, please see their ads below and contact me and we can talk about how to facilitate the next steps in their very bright young futures! Ill do everything I can to help you make that happen. (PS- they stopped chewing the fences ever since theyve been in training. MAGIC!) :)
