This is why the justice system can never be trusted with the power to take a life as a form of punishment-- because it is a human system and therefore a fallible system. On Monday, Louisiana’s longest-serving death row prisoner was freed after 30 years. For those of you who are old enough, think about your last 30 years and then think about having them replaced with prison walls because of a mistake. Think about your life being ended because of a mistake. If it can happen to him, it can happen to you. A Louisiana judge ordered that Glenn Ford be freed Monday after new information corroborated what Ford had said all along: that he was not present at nor involved in the November 5, 1983 slaying of Isadore Rozeman.
