This isn’t rocket science. The best thing to do when you screw up – is just admit it. Which is what the Obama administration should do. I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of the lame excuses I hear every day at the White House. 1. We never expected so much traffic. What? They’ve been telling us for five years that millions of Americans are hungry for health insurance – and then surprised when so many people really are hungry for health insurance? 2. Every new roll-out, even Apple, has problems. Yes, but this is the most important accomplishment of the Obama administration. They should have tested, and re-tested, and re-tested this one. 3. Too many Americans just aren’t “tech savvy.” Yeah, well, that’s why the site must be fool-proof and easy to use. Look, the Affordable Care Act is still a great program. It can, it will, it must survive. It will enable 30 to 40 million Americans, who never before could afford health insurance, to get protection for themselves and their families. So the Obama administration should stop making excuses, admit they screwed up, and just get busy and fix the damned thing. That’s my parting shot for today. -BP
