This man is a pure nut and is in fact the heretic he claims all - TopicsExpress

This man is a pure nut and is in fact the heretic he claims all Bible believing Christians are (https://youtube/watch?v=Jm10SQ1iVPc). He clearly states that he didnt like the truths of Christianity, and so he had a crisis of faith. So from this place he was faced with two options; 1) throw out Christianity altogether or 2) remake it in a manner more palatable to him. He decided to follow the self-proclaimed more noble method which was to throw out all the teaching of his upbringing (and I would add literary scholarship) so that he could intentionally go to scripture with the view that the Bible is not to be understood as it is written but rather as allegory. Even when he gives his evidence, in case after case, he doesnt actually read the text nor the context, but he shares his reinterpreted view of the accounts, restating, what he considers, stories as the authors attempt to expose fundamentalism and literalism as foolish. He says that the authors message was essentially, fundamentalism and literalism is ridiculous, you need to think outside the box. He claims, for example, that the Samaritan woman at the wells problem was that she was a fundamentalist and a literalist, and that John was actually mocking her fundamentalism and literalism. He claims that the Bible is not supposed to be historical but rather allegorical in nature and must therefor be reinterpreted with that in view (in other words take nothing from the gospels or by extension the rest of scriptures as being literally historical). He claims that historical Christianity is a gentile heresy perpetuated on blind believers throughout the centuries. Well, there is so much to say and so little space to write it, but suffice it to say that this is pure lunacy. This man shows the worst kind of scholarship imaginable (the often wrong but never uncertain type), he justifies his statements by his own subjective thoughts and personal experiences, and by what he wants to believe and what he doesnt want to believe, rather than what scripture itself, or the historical record and archeology teaches and/or affirms. The combined historical references outside the Bible teach us that Jesus was in fact a literal man who had many many followers at that time historically referred to as Christians, who believed he was the Son of God, and worshiped Him as God, that He performed many wondrous miracles, was crucified and was raised from the dead, and that many many Christians just after the time of Christ suffered and were willingly were put to death for this immovable belief. The person open to the truth, of the authenticity of scripture and the personage of Christ, can have much confidence that there is tremendous substantiation of the Bible from extraBiblical sources. So go ahead and pray and ask the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, the Risen Messiah to reveal Himself to you personally (if you dare) ;-). https://youtube/watch?v=Wlp63Lxrxi0
