This morning (05/01/14) the National Honor Society class officers from Dunlap High School brought us a blanket donation: The National Honor Society is a service organization that recognizes those students who excel in character, leadership, service, and scholarship. The Dunlap Chapter of the NHS decided to fulfill its commitment to the community this school year by assembling fifty-seven fleece tie blankets to give to the patients at Illinois CancerCare. The National Honor Society class officers, for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years, visited the Illinois CancerCare facility on May 1st to deliver the blankets that were assembled by 108 NHS members. The class officers were given a tour of one of the three treatment pods at Illinois CancerCare, while on the tour the students were each able to pass out blankets to patients receiving chemotherapy.
