This morning I attended the ‘Police Commissioners Stand Together - TopicsExpress

This morning I attended the ‘Police Commissioners Stand Together Against Violence Towards Women and Children’ event at Parliament House. It was only the second time that all of Australia’s and New Zealand’s Police Commissioners have come together to show a stand against family violence. The event was attended by the Prime Minister, the Hon Tony Abbott MP as well as His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Her Excellency Lady Cosgrove. The Governor General rightfully said this morning that “violence against women and children is wrong. No ifs, no buts, no extenuating circumstances.” I’m pictured here with Commissioner of the NSW Police, Commissioner Andrew Scipione APM. I would like to thank Senator the Hon Michaela Cash for organising this morning’s event and for inviting members of the Australian Parliament to take a stand against family violence.
