This morning I notified my employer CCCS of Maryland & Delaware that I will retire effective close of business on 12/31/2014. Thanks to the support of my wife and my children. I have been working since I was 15 - My first job was at the Ferndale Sunoco working for Bob & Betty Thomas - a true learning experience. I plan a fulfilling retirement. My wife Sheila and I are working to get our business off the ground (T & S Smokehouse BBQ, LLC). I want to learn how to play the guitar (the blues), read all of the books that are currently in my queue. I want to learn to fly fish, spend time with the grandkids, go to Normandy and Scotland (with and for my wife). I want to work to elect leaders that will move this country forward be they Democrats or Republicans, Independents, or Green Party. There is a poem by Dylan Thomas - Do Not Go Gently Into that Good night and it pretty much sums up how I intend to live for whatever time I have left. I hope that in my time as Director of Housing Counseling Services that I have helped the folks in Maryland and Delaware. It has been a privilege to be of service. See you all on the flippity-flop.
