Years ago after my first chemo treatment I was told to prepare to loose my hair, I will never forget it. It was a Tuesday afternoon and I was sitting alone at the front desk of Martin Audiology. Curtis was in the Temple office that day and Dr Martin was making a nursing home visit so I was all alone. I reached up and ran my hand through my hair and there it was...a hand full of my long beautiful brunette hair. I took a deep breath and started to brush my remaining hair until all that would come out did. I then got up closed the office and went down the street to Pro Cuts. None of my hairdresser friends would shave my head when I asked them so I knew I needed to have someone who didnt know me do it. I walked in and they knew...I had them shave the rest of my hair and to my surprise spent the next two years blissfully bald. Poodie picked up bandanas from his travels across the United States and told me to wear dangle earings so no one would mistake me for a guy. I just heard a man on the Steve Harvey Show describe the experience his wife had when she lost her hair and it brought it all back to me. I lost my hair to chemo...I lost my breast to cancer...I have my life and I wouldnt change a thing that it took to get me this far.
